Sara Arpiarian, LCSW (she/her)
Sara is a licensed psychotherapist who enjoys working with children, adolescents, and adults who are seeking change and growth for themselves to achieve a greater level of emotional health in their personal lives and relationships with others. Sara has extensive experience supporting client’s with depression, anxiety, trauma, ADHD, adoption-related issues, relationship issues, parenting skills, self- care, grief and loss, and life transitions.
As a seasoned clinician, Sara incorporates a holistic, trauma-informed approach that respects each client’s unique cultural background, experiences, and goals while also using her knowledge of evidence-based practices such as CBT, Motivational Interviewing, and PCIT (parent-child interaction therapy). She takes a collaborative approach to help her clients feel safe, listened to, and empowered. Sara offers each person empathy, respect, and compassion which enables them to gain insight into their strengths and patterns.
Staff Therapist
Sara earned her Master’s in Social Work at the University of Southern California and began her career as a child and family therapist specializing in treating families who were impacted by adoption or the foster care system. She then moved into a leadership role where she was assistant director and clinical supervisor for local mental health clinics. Later, during her time at home with her two children, she authored the therapeutic children's book, The Curious Little Star: Learns About Families, which normalizes and celebrates diverse family experiences.
Originally from Savannah, Georgia, Sara moved to Southern California in 2009 and enjoys making the most out of the beautiful California weather by running, biking, going on long walks with her dog, and spending as much time as possible with her family at the beach.
