Sophie Elkins, ACSW (she/her)

Staff Therapist

Sophie is a Los Angeles-based psychotherapist empowering older adolescents and adults through the development and evolution of self-image and the challenging of stagnating beliefs. Sophie loves working with those experiencing anxiety, perfectionism, and challenges with body image and self-judgment. She also enjoys working with couples to explore relationship dynamics and effective communication strategies.

Drawing on experience working with society’s most vulnerable populations in individual and group settings, Sophie believes that connection and safe spaces are crucial to one's ability to thrive. She recognizes the complexity and ambiguity of life and feels passionately about discovering the gray areas with clients. Sophie achieves this by using a client-centered, strengths-based, and systems approach while utilizing evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy for couples (EFT), and Motivational Interviewing.

Sophie obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Social Justice from Chapman University and later earned her Master’s degree in Social Work from USC. Outside of working with her incredible clients, Sophie loves to sing and cuddle up with her two pups, Frank and Miso.

Sophie works with clients in-person in West LA and virtually with those located anywhere in the state of California.

Sophie is an Associate Clinical Social Worker (ACSW #115866) supervised by Brooke Schwartz (LCSW #105459)
