How you operate

You’re a kid or teenager (or are raising one) who’s going through it. Whether you’re having a hard time managing intense emotions, struggling with your parents or friends, or dealing with something else, you need a safe place to build a trusting relationship so that you can receive support, tools, and guidance to make growing and maturing feel more manageable!

How we help

We provide children and teens ages 3-18 with a safe, nurturing, and predictable place to learn about and explore their emotions, and to develop personalized tools and strategies they’ll feel confident implementing now and in future stages of life.

For younger kiddos, our therapists use Play and Art Therapies and provide parent psychoeducation and support.

With tweens and teens, we use behavioral therapies like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and base treatment goals on the teen’s wants, needs, and goals.

We often recommend parents work with another therapist within or outside of the practice to learn tools and skills to support the work their child is doing in individual therapy. We encourage family sessions when appropriate to bring family members together and facilitate effective communication so that therapeutic gains extend outside of sessions.
